The Netherlands - 409 Kilometres

Cycling in this country is just a treat.

The NSCR route follows stretches of the national network, called LF-routes (Landelijke Fietsroutes) with a total length of 6000 km. Along the West coast the route consists for most of the times of traffic-free cycle tracks. It truly is the sea on your left and coastal villages on your right. At times you can wonder off more inland and visit The Hague, Leiden, Amsterdam etc. or turn left and have a swim. I should know, I was born in The Hague so I know all about it and have lovely memories.

The cycle route in the northern part, Friesland and Groningen, are not that heavily populated, large polders, millions of sheep and obviously large farms.

The maps to buy for this part of the NSCR route are:

LF1 and LF10. They are available in Dutch, English and also in German. Scale 1:150.000.
The booklet comes in a very nice format and fits nicely on top of your handlebar bag.
